Oh no…they’ve found me out!

Henry was stolen from the shop window at Mr Bedds in Altrincham. It’s the biggest case of shoplifting police have seen in years. A giant cuddly hippo, measuring 4ft 6in tall and 2ft wide, has been swiped from the windows of a bed store. The furry giant – clad in pyjamas and going by the name of Henry – was stolen from Mr Bedds in Altrincham. Store bosses are now offering a reward for its safe return. Managing director Andrew Harris said: “We never thought anyone would be brazen enough – or strong enough -– to just walk in and pinch him. He was absolutely huge “Police thought we were having a laugh when we reported him as missing but we see it as theft. It might have just been a prank but it’s not very funny to us.” Mr Harris admitted the incident had amused some of his customers at the store in Stamford New Road but said others were devastated by the theft. He said: “Children in prams loved him, they’d wave at him and treated him like a friend. “The saddest thing is that he has a baby – so the culprits have made him an orphan. Our other hippo is around 10ins tall and lives in a little cot. The thieves didn’t take him so he’s pining for his dad. “We miss him and just want him back so we are appealing to readers of the Manchester Evening News for information as to his whereabouts and will pay a reward for his safe return.”
